A new national initiative backed by the AA and Waka Kotahi (NZTA) among others, aims to raise awareness around all that’s involved in keeping our youngest passengers safe.
The AA understands the importance of getting the safety of babies and children on the road right. Partnering with SitTight on this national initiative helps ensure we give everyone in our community the information needed.
Over the next 12 months this national campaign will clarify things such as New Zealand car seat law and highlight key points, including how using the back seat is best and the importance of rear-facing car seats. Any posts involved in the campaign will use the hashtag #nzcarseatsafetycomms so when you see these, please share them to help spread the word.
Founder of SitTight and child restraint technician, Danielle Beh, was driven to improve the often confusing and hard-to-find information on children’s car and booster seats after owning a store that specialized in the hire and sales of child restraints and experiencing first-hand the importance of education in this area. She has designed a series of online education programmes on the subject for parents and caregivers, rental car companies, community and childcare services and midwives, among others.
AA Directions will feature some of that critical information in the next issue.
