  • Can I change the amount I’m covered for?

    Yes, you can reduce your cover at any time. If you want to increase your cover, you’ll need to answer a few simple questions about your health.

  • If I cancel can I get my money back if I paid in advance?

    Yes, we will refund a proportion of the premium, depending the date of cancellation. For example, if you pay an annual premium in January and you cancel in June, we’ll refund your premiums from June until December.

  • What happens if you opt out after 10 years?

    Mortgage Protection is not an investment policy so there is no surrender value and no cash back if you decide to cancel your policy.

  • How do I get my learner licence?

    To obtain your learner licence, you must pass a theory test based on the New Zealand Rode Code. For more information about obtaining your licence please visit the NZTA website.

  • Do you offer training to help people pass the Learner licence?

    The AA offers in-vehicle training, so in order to pass your leaner licence (which is a theory test), you will need to read the New Zealand Road Code. Road Code books are available at AA Centres or online at the AA Shop.

  • Do you provide forklift training?

    The AA offers training for Class 1 Licences (car). Please contact the NZ Transport Agency if you are looking for information about Forklift Licences.

  • Can I do the lesson in my own car?

    In the interest of safety, we advise learning to drive in our instructor’s dual controlled cars. If you wish to use your own car, the instructor will most likely assess your driving in their dual controlled car first, before taking any lessons in your own car. Each of our instructors has different requirements surrounding this so you will need to discuss this with your instructor when they make contact with you.

  • How quickly can I have a lesson? Can I have a lesson on the same day/the day after my booking?

    Our instructors will try to accommodate a lesson within your time frames; however this does depend on their schedules.

    We advise booking at least a couple of weeks in advance.

  • Can I cancel a lesson booking? How do I cancel a lesson booking?

    You must give your instructor at least 24 hours notice otherwise you will be required to pay for the lesson. If you wish to cancel a lesson please contact your instructor directly by phone/txt message or email.

  • Can I change to a different instructor?

    Yes, provided there is another instructor in your area. If you wish to change instructor please contact us on 0800 223 748.
