  • When will I receive my certificate for my Defensive Driving Course?

    You receive the certificate for the Defensive Driving Course once you have completed both the 1 hour practical session and the 8 hours of theory sessions.

  • How do I advise the AA of a deceased Member?

    Please call the Customer Contact Centre on 0800 500 444 Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm or go into your nearest AA Centre. We'll need the Membership number, or name and date of birth of the deceased AA Member, as well as your name, contact details and relationship to the Member.

  • Are visitors to New Zealand able to join the AA while they are here?

    You can purchase a Visitor's Membership if you're in New Zealand temporarily and not a member of an overseas Motor Vehicle Club. If you're a Motor Vehicle Club member in your own country you may be eligible for NZAA reciprocal services while in New Zealand.

  • Can I apply for an International Drivers Permit in New Zealand if I hold an overseas driver's licence?

    Only New Zealand driver's licence holders can apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in New Zealand. If you hold an overseas driver's licence you'll need to apply for an IDP in the country your licence was issued in.

  • I am going overseas. What should I do with my AA Membership?

    You have three options: Keep your AA Membership and use the reciprocal services offered to AA Members in some countries. Resign your AA Membership for a maximum of 5 years and reinstate it when you come back from overseas. You'll be charged $20 for each year (or part thereof) your Membership was resigned in addition to the annual Membership subscription fee. You'll retain your Membership history and loyalty discounts. Cancel your Membership when you leave New Zealand and rejoin as a new Member when you return.

  • Is there a fee for a new AA Membership card?

    No. The AA will replace your AA Membership card free of charge if the details are incorrect, the card is damaged or no longer legible, the card has been lost or stolen.

  • Can I pay my Membership subscription by phone or internet banking?

    Yes. You can pay your AA Membership online through your bank's website. You will need to contact your bank to set up our account details.

  • Do I have to be an AA Member to use AA Auto Service & Repair?

    No. All motorists are welcome.
  • Will my AA Auto Service & Repair service cost more than the original quote?

    Our services are a set price so you'll know the cost before we start. We'll let you know if it's likely to cost more before going ahead with any extra work.
  • Does AA Auto Service & Repair service fleet vehicles?
