  • What can I do about an incorrect odometer reading?

Odometer readings can sometimes be recorded incorrectly during a Warrant of Fitness (WoF) inspection, due to characters being transposed or illegible handwriting. If this has happened, it can be corrected by faxing the checksheet and a letter of explanation to the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) . You must include the incorrect odometer reading and the vehicle's current correct odometer reading.

If the checksheet is also incorrect or it can't be found, take the vehicle to a WoF agent. The agent will record the current odometer reading and ask NZTA to correct the odometer reading. Find your nearest AA WoF stations or visit the NZ Transport Agency website for more information.
