The Royal New Zealand Ballet is kicking off 2025 with the beloved Tutus on Tour performances in Kerikeri, Whangārei, Tauranga, Rotorua, Kāpiti, Blenheim and Nelson from 21 February – 22 March 2025.
This year's programme includes two show-stopping pas de deux: the elegant and sophisticated Grand Pas Classique, and the charming Wedding pas de deux from Act III of Coppélia. RNZB will also see the stage premiere of Limerence, as well as The Way Alone, first performed by Hong Kong Ballet and now seen in New Zealand for the first time.

The Royal New Zealand Ballet with Scottish Ballet:
14 – 15 March
Scottish Ballet visits New Zealand for the first time in 2025 to share the stage for three Wellington-only performances. The combined companies will be showcasing contemporary works that are unique to them both.
The Firebird with My Brilliant Career:
30 April – 1 June
Loughlan Prior’s The Firebird – a fairytale about a desert world where water is infinitely precious – was a huge hit for the RNZB in 2021, but this year will be the first time the show has been performed in the South Island. Expect stunning designs, immersive projections by POW Studios and Prior’s expressive choreography all set to Stravinsky’s epic score.
24 July – 9 August
Home, Land and Sea presents three intriguing ballets inspired by journeys in unknown seas and exploring what it means to come home. Created by Moss Te Ururangi Patterson, Home, Land and Sea was crafted for six dancers from the RNZB and six from the New Zealand Dance Company.
30 October – 20 December
One of the world’s most beloved ballet classics, The Nutcracker, returns for summer 2025. A timeless celebration of Christmas, family, fantasy and growing up. This year’s performance will have a uniquely Kiwi touch, evoking the nostalgia of childhood holidays at the beach, the snowy Southern Alps and a fairytale Kingdom of the Sweets.
