Cover for some COVID-related situations^
All of our policies include selected cover for epidemic and pandemic diseases, like COVID-19 in some situations:
- If you or your travelling companion are diagnosed with the disease and you can't go on your trip or have to go home early.
- If you or your travelling companion are quarantined or put into isolation by the NZ Government if you’re suspected of having been exposed to the disease.
- If you or your travelling companion are denied boarding on any scheduled public transport service based on the suspicion that you have the disease. This includes costs for additional accommodation and meals and provides cover for $200 per day up to a maximum of $1,400.

24/7 Emergency Assistance
With AA Business Travel Insurance, you’ll have access to the Allianz Partners 24/7 Emergency Assistance Team. A single call will put you in touch with a travel specialist who will be able to help you.

Cover for some pre-existing medical conditions
This policy provides automatic cover for certain pre-existing medical conditions. Cover for conditions outside of those listed for automatic covered pre-existing medical conditions may be available following a medical assessment.

Rental vehicle excess cover
Cover is in place for the insurance excess you are required to pay, as a result of loss or damage to a rental vehicle you have hired, up to $6,000.

The cover provides additional benefits for your business journey including cover for trade samples and tools, loss of income, alternative staff to provide cover if you were forced to return home early, and kidnap and ransom.

^The policy still has a general exclusion for epidemics and pandemics, and does not cover disinclination to travel due to fear or change of mind. Cover is only provided if you have not commenced your journey against the New Zealand Government’s advice not to travel. There is no cover for lockdowns, changes in government alert levels, quarantine or mandatory isolation applying to a population or part of a population.
