About our Tradespeople

Wesley Smit - Super Service Ltd

Tell us something about yourself. Your background, passion etc..

I have 18 years of experience in various countries in the engineering, construction, and maintenance industries. I started my career as an apprentice and evolved into positions like Field Specialist, Field Supervisor, Construction & Project Manager for many well-known MNCs like Jacobs, Uhde, Polysius, ThyssenKrupp, Schindler, and Otis. The Covid Pandemic gave me the opportunity to leave the corporate world and start my own business in the maintenance and renovation space, an industry that has proven resilient during the last couple of years.  My background in various industries has provided me with the necessary skills to understand customers' needs and take a practical approach to each situation. When I am not at work, I like spending time with my family camping, catching fish or mountain biking in one of the ranges.

How long you have been in this business? When did you join AA Home Response?

We have been operating since Aug 2021, and started doing work for the AA in May 2022.

How has business been since your company became a contractor with AA Home Response?

Working with the AA has been great. The team is easy to deal with and they take our feedback on board which is great. They share the same values and treat each client and contractor like their own, making them feel special.

Describe a typical day on the job…

No two days are the same and there are always new and exciting jobs coming in. You just never know what the day holds and that keeps it interesting.

What are the best bits?

The best bits for me are when we are able to help clients with jobs that they have been struggling with and by taking the stress and or pain out of a situation. This provides me with the ultimate job satisfaction by knowing that we have helped someone and they genuinely appreciate the work we have done.

Give us some story / experience that you cherish…

Last week we made the local news (Neighbourly) for rescuing a neighborhood cat from a tree that was stuck for most of the day.
