Hi there, hoping you can help, i am trying to find out what the requirements are to import a vintage vehicle into NZ. Looking at importing a 1930 something Austin 7 which has been in my husbands family since new in the UK. Does this come under the SIV requirements?
Appreciate your advice

Hi there,
Feel free to email us on aatech@aa.co.nz with regards to import enquiries.
Vehicles over 20 years old are exempt from the current frontal impact, emissions, and stability control requirements (so SIV exemption not required).
The standards a vehicle of 1930's era will be general wof standards, and can be physically inspected once here. The main thing with an older vehicle is rust/ corrosion or any repairs that have been carried out, may need to be repair certified upon entry to NZ.
