I know that overtaking is possible on a three-laned road when there is a broken white line on the left and broken/solid yellow line in the middle lane. Is this manaouevre also possible on a two-landed road, i.e. one lane in each direction? Can I overtake a vehicle, using the oncoming lane, if I have a broken white line in my lane and a yellow line in the opposite lane?

Hi there, this rule applies to any marked road, you must not cross the centreline if the yellow is in your lane. If there was no passing for both lanes of traffic it would be marked with yellow on both sides of the centre line.

Excellent, thank you! Glad to finally have that cleared up.
