I read your article about requirements for importing a caravan from the UK.
Please advise your readers that they also need to be sure that they have a 50mm tow-ball to match the 50mm hitch.
1"7/8" is the size used generally in NZ.

Thanks for pointing this out. A call to one of our AA Testing Station Managers would confirm your fears. They say that while it is unusual to have a mismatch between the hitch and the tow-ball it does happen.
One easy check, if the actual sizes are not easily identified, is to place a jack under the caravan hitch and try to lift the caravan off the tow-ball.
A mismatched hitch and tow-ball will soon become very obvious.
