Hi
I recently purchased a 1968 CA Bedford van.
This vehicle has one lap type seat belt for the driver, that is all.
There is no provision for a passenger belt and the seat was either removed or never fitted.
This has obviously been legal as it has passed a WOF test for many years previously.
This is a classic vehicle, I want to keep it original and am not interested in retro-fitting anything.
I have just been told by a WOF inspector that they will not issue a WOF with lap belts in the front.
I think they are wrong.
Can you direct me to the relative information regarding a vehicle first registered in 1968?
Have googled but the information is confusing.
Also asked NZTA but never received a reply
Thank you
Michelle (Auckland)

Hi there,
Could you please email us the registration number at aatech@aa.co.nz so we can identify
the vehicle class. So we can give you the relevant information.
Thanks.

Hi there,if it meets the class listed, only the OE lap belt can be used. Any replacement belts must be lap and diagonal. See the link listed below.
