One night, it was raining. I stopped for traffic light on an uphill. I made sure that my car was 2-3 meters away from the car in front of my car (as I can see the whole car and the road between us).
Then the traffic light turned green, before I started to move, the car in front of me moved backwards and hit my car.
Who is in wrong in this situation?
what is the safety distance in this situation?

If the sequence of events is as described, the car that reversed into you is in the wrong.
