Greetings everyone...

I own a 2008 Toyota Avanza that I bought back in 2008 from Toyota dealership . Recently I was reading about the chassis/VIN number and what it does indicate, my car's VIN number is ''MHFHICF306K001087''. When I checked the VIN number online it turned out to be made in 2006 not in 2008. Also I've read that the tenth number should indicate the model's year.

Can anyone tell me what should I do ?

Thanks in advance

I suspect this car is an Avensis? Japanese produced vehicles do not have a 17 digit VIN such as this, which is European market identification, and where the Avensis is sourced from. However, from what we can tell, the VIN you have provided does not come up as a valid number.
Regardless, as you say, the 10th number is the year of manufacture. It's not uncommon in New Zealand to find the year of manufacture and the year of first registration differ, but this is nothing to be alarmed at. The warranty always starts from the date the vehicle was first registered (anywhere in the world), so if your car was bought new from a Toyota dealer in NZ in 2008, that will be the year entered into the system, and the year the car is recognised at.
It may be more common to find the year is only one year behind (and not two, as in your case), but it's not uncommon for NZ car distributors to have vehicles in stock for a few months before sale date, so it's possible your car was built at the end of '06, was dispatched from Europe early in '07, arriving in NZ a few months into '07, and not sold until early in '08.
