I received a $150 fine for the above . I crossed the bus lane to drop my son off at uni and then crossed it to get back into the lane. I never tarvel in the bus lane to get any unfair and illegal advantage so I am sure that I would have left the lane and returned to it in the shortest distance possible. Can you tell me how they determine that I was in the lane for more than 50m and by how much more. I feel this fine is very unfair

Can you e-mail us a diagram showing the layout of the road and where you stopped to offload your passenger? A street address will also help us to better understand the situation. Also e-mail us a copy of the infringement notice.

We have not received any video footage of the incident to date.

The road user rules allow drivers to drive in the special vehicle lane for the minimum length necessary to complete a manoeuvre and for no more than a maximum length of 50metres. If the 50metres has been exceeded then the driver will not have a case and will need to pay the infringement notice. The video should clearly indicate whether the 50metres has been exceeded or not.
