Hi

I bought a used import 6 months ago from a car dealer, I took it in for it's first WOF since owning and they told me it needs 2 C.V. boots replaced and an engine mount.
The Car is a 2006 with 70,000K and cost $26,000
I called the dealer and said I felt that they should should cover the costs as I have had it for such a short time and I would have expected to not have to replace these parts yet. They said no as it's general wear and tear.

Do I have any rights with these items or do I just need to get them fixed myself?

Thanks
Alan

The CGA has no finite timefame, but 6 months is stretching the time for wear and tear items such as this, assuming you've done average mileage since the purchase.
If you really wanted to test the bounds of the act, you could take the matter to the disputes tribunal, but I think it's unlikely that you would win.

OK great, thanks for your help, I'll get it fixed myself.
