Hi,

If I was in a Volunteer Fire Brigade, what do you think the chances are of gaining an exemption for the hours permitted to drive as in some cases the call-outs are after the restricted license hours conditions?
And would it have a positive effect on the decision if I had also completed an Advanced Driving Course?

It is up to the NZTA whether your application is approved or not. The length of time you have held the restricted licence, your driving experience, reasons for requesting the exemption, whether you are eligible to apply for your full licence, other transport options, etc are all taken into consideration. The completion of an Advanced Driving Course should help your case.
