I was wondering what the rules are regarding riding a moped across the Auckland Harbour Bridge?

My mate said its OK because it's a 80kmph zone.

Is this correct?

To be registered as a moped the bike must have a top speed of only 50kph and have a maximum power output of 2KW.

To drive / ride on any road you must be able to keep up with the speed limit set for a particular environment, in this case 80kph.

Based on that the answer is no, you cannot ride the moped across the Harbour bridge or any other road where the speed limit is greater than 50kph.
