I want to help someone who recently lost his car insurance cancelled & claim rejected due to providing false information. He regret that and taken responsibility for his action. Which has done due to financial difficulties. I am sure he will not do it again, Now he is struggling to go to work without his car. Please advice, the options available to get car insurance cover for him, at least 3rd party. Cheers

As you will be aware, Insurance companies take fraudulant claims seriously, therefore it will be difficult for your friend to get insurance, as obviously, he must disclose his previous insurance record to any prospective insurer.
The only advice I can really provide is for him to ring around and try to find an insurer who is willing to accept him, but it may not be easy.

The Ombudsman's office is a very good avenue to pursue for claimants who feel the decision to refuse insurance cover is unjust, all notes and relevant information can be provided by the insurance company to the Ombudsman's office about the account providing your friend signs a Privacy Act waiver, the Ombudsman can then investigate why the insurer made it's decision, with those fact's and your friends own explanation of the events, the Ombudsman may make a determination to up hold or not uphold the actions of a particular insurance company, sometimes decisions are overturned due to inconsequential level of proof.

You're correct sanjeet83, however in this instance it is agreed that the person made a fraudulant statement to the insurer therefore the Insurance Ombudsman's office would be unlikely to change things.
We often recommend the Ombudsman if people feel they have been unfairly treated by their insurer, but the way I read this question, that's not the case in this instance.
