Can you please identify the process for uninsured victim of a road traffic accident to lodge a claim for damages to vehicle and personal property ( clothing )
are out of pocket expenses eg medical , ambulance charges able to be recovered ?
Are loss of employment earnings able to be recovered ?
You will need to contact the other driver who was involved in the accident and find out if they have 3rd party insurance cover. Claim from their insurance company for the damages to your vehicle - if they accept liability for the accident. If the other person is not insured, or does not wish to accept liability, then you need to take this matter to the courts. Get a few repair quotes for the damages to your vehicle and contact the Disputes Tribunal for a day in court, where a disputes arbitrator will have to rule on his findings. It can go either way on the day. Department of the courts can be contacted on 0800 367 6838.
For your other expenses you need to contact the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) and try claim from them. You can contact ACC on 0800 101 996 or visit the ACC Website.
