Can you tell me how the potential fine is calculated if diesel Road User Charges (RUC) are not updated?

I have heard it is three times the amont overdue.

Is this correct?

Yes the fine payable is calculated on the outstanding costs.

For example if the vehicle has travelled 3,000kms on an expired RUC then the fine would be three times the amount due.
