I recently had my vehicle rear ended at a controlled give way intersection, other party didn't admit liability straight away but what are the chances of her saying she was not a fault during the insurance claim process? Would I have to pay an excess on my vehicle to get it repaired if other party denies responsibility? I am pretty sure she is at fault - unless I was reversing which I was not.

If the details of the accident are as described, the other party would seem to be clearly at fault. If both parties are insured, the insurance companies usually sort out who is at fault.
If the other party is uninsured, then you may have to pay the excess and claim it back from the other party. Again, your insurer will usually act for you in trying to recover the excess.
