Could any one please advice me on the documentation needed for importing a Alfa Romeo Spider 1975 into NZ All help would be appreciated
Special Interest Vehicle Excemptions (SIV) are only needed when a vehicle does not meet the frontal impact or the emission standard. Cars first registered in 1975 do not need to meet either of those standards, therfore no SIV exemption is needed.
You must provide evidence that you are the rightful owner (receipt, bill of sale), provide registration papers and an ownership trail back to the last registered owner.
Be careful, all cars must be structurally sound with no rust or poor repairs. Don't relly on good looks, make sure it sound under the skin.
PS: Great choice of car!
Thanks Rene I am busy cleaning it. It was completely refurbished so it is rust free. Might see you in NZ thanks for confirming
