Can I still get an exemption on my car license to drive a trike if I purchase one?

An LE1 motor tricycle would normally be registered as a car, so is able to be driven on a car license.

The trike I am looking at was originally a motorbike then professionally converted to a trike (one wheel in front-2 wheels at rear) and is still registered as a motorbike. Can this registration be changed over to a car registration, and if so how do I go about it please?

You should be able to make an application to change the vehicle's details. A form (MR16) is available at Post Shops or Motor Vehicle Registration centres to change the details.
