I got caught by a speed camera approaching a 100kph sign in a 70kph area.
I was doing 106kph so I was 36kph over.
However they not only managed to misspell the location but according to law (says a friend) we have a 'safe' zone 250 meters either side of the sign (I was 200 metres).
If I write in what do you think the outcome would be?

The road code states that "speed limit changes take effect at the sign post". It says not to increase your speed until you pass the sign, if the sign indicates a higher speed (and reduce your speed before reaching the sign if it indicates a lower speed).
It is our understanding that speed cameras must be visible from the roadside (not hidden) and parked so they only capture vehicles travelling on a straight section of road.
If your friend firmly believes there is an unwritten 250m rule either side of a sign, then you should write in and ask the question.
We believe any such rules only applies to speed cameras, and doubt there is any discretion for radars - they can be located anywhere and anytime.
Misspelling the location is not going to get you off either Claire.
