Hello,

I'm German, staying in New Zealand until mid-January. I do not have any domestic drivers license but thinking of making a New Zealand learners license.

However this depends on whether I'm allowed to drive with a German assistant driver holding an international and German drivers license.

Can you say something about the legal restrictions?

Under New Zealand law, your supervisor must have a New Zeaalnd licence, and have held it for at least 2 years. For more information, see: http://www.nzta.govt.nz/licence/getting/cars/car-licence.html/.
