Hi, I'm a 17 year old with a Restricted Licence.
Both my parents work really late and I have a 10 year old brother.
Is there anyway to acquire a exception which will allow me to pick him up from school?
We all live under the same household, not sure if that changes anything?

So, do I need any exception paper or am I automatically allowed to drive him since he is in my immediate family???

Thanks :)

You cannot automatically carry your brother on a Restricted licence. If you do, you are liable for a $100 fine and 35 demerit points, as well as risk invalidating your insurance which means you won’t be covered for damage to your or any other car or property in the event of an accident.

It is possible to apply for an exemption, however in our experience they are rarely granted unless you can show severe hardship which I don't think applies in your case. For more information about exemptions, see: http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/driver-licence-exemption/
