I recently purchased a deregistered car with plans to put it back on the road. I have decided to abandon this idea and am looking at selling the car on.
My question is, does ownership or any paper work need to be completed? I don’t want any tickets or to be liable for anything once this is sold.

If the car has been officially deregistered then it no longer exists on the National Car Register data base so there is no official paper work required if you sell.
Any new owner would need to get the vehicle complied to bring it back to life (new plates, registration etc) and for it to be reinstated on the national data base.
If you find a buyer keep a signed receipt (including both your signature and the buyer’s) of the sales transaction. Include the buyers name, date of sale etc and acknowledgment the car is being sold in an unregistered and unwarranted condition.
This protects you against any future issues if the car was to reappear on the roads illegally and you were traced as the last known owner.
