About 10 months ago I bought a 2000 Mitsubishi Pajero from a Licensed Dealer.

I recently decided to update it for a later model from another Dealer. They valued the Pajero and we agreed on a trade-in and top up price. The next day the Dealer discovered the vehicle had been imported as damaged and reduced the value of my trade by $2,000. As a result I was left with a $6000 gap between the trade-in price and the vehicle I was wanting to buy.

The original Dealer never told me the Pajero had been imported as damaged and the Consumer Information Notice (CIN) card didn’t state this either. The Dealer admitted their error and agreed to pay me $500 as compensation for their mistake.

Have I got any grounds to make a claim to the Disputes Tribunal to compensate me for the extra $2000 I am required to pay out?

The tyre tread itself must fit within the mudguard or guard extension. The sidewall of the tyre can protrude past the guard but not the tread.

Yes, you do need the rear wheels covered on a flat-deck ute. Rules like this are often open to interpretation but the inspectors I have spoken to have said a mud flap (the appropriate width ) would be deemed acceptable.
