Regarding a question posted in May 2010 about Fire Hydrant markings.
The correct marking is not exactly as shown in the Road Code. The Yellow rectangle is actually the fire hydrant lid. The yellow circle should be a circle of 1.2m outside diameter with a line width of 100mm painted yellow as concentrically as possible around the underground fire hydrant.
The other approved markings are;
* The lid of the fire hydrant box painted with yellow paint
* An isosceles triangle of solid colour with 600mm sides and 450mm base, painted yellow, on or near the centre of the carriageway, with the apex pointing towards the underground fire hydrant.
* Blue cats eyes may also be used.
