If I install an aftermarket electric power steering unit to my classic car, does it need to be certified? No extra holes go into the body and it uses the same steering column etc.

As it would be classed as a modification that affects a steering component or system that directly or indirectly affects the directional control of the vehicle, it also doesn't appear to be listed on items that don't require LVV certification.
