Hi there, can someone please help me with the headlight replacement. I have replaced complete headlight unit with modern DOT/SAE E9 approved headlight. Apparently my wof inspector has failed the warrant and wants me to get the cert or the original headlight. Please advise me if they’re legal because I never had any issues with them and 90% of Jeeps have them in NZ.

It looks like a DOT headlamp standard is part of the FMVSS standards as listed in the link above. Maybe speak with the inspector and ask why they think the standard on the lamp is not accepted. Are there any more markings listed?
