Is it possible to transfer standard plates to another car? I have a very cool (non-personalised, just randomly cool) number plate that I'd love to keep.

The NZTA info kind of implies that you can only transfer plates if they are personalised, but it isn't clear that you definitely can't transfer standard ones.

Hi there,
No the standards issue government plates are not able to be transferred to any other vehicle as they are single use only.
