Plastic spacers have been used in lift of our 4WD ute. Were fitted and received WOF afterwards last year but as a new regulation has banned them recently, now the WOF is due again the garage says thet cant pass the ute unless the spacers are replaced and the vehicle is certificated. Q: can we use the ute for a special caravanning holiday next week before getting the work done? Does the regulation give any allowance of time for bringing a vehicle into compliance witha new change like this?

Hi there,
If the vehicle fails a wof then it can't continue to legally be driven unless it's for the express purpose of repairs or obtaining the wof. So either the car is put back to standard or LVV certified. I am not aware of any recent changes, and if there was- there is no allowance or grace period.
