If I’m turning left in to a multi lane road and the left most lane is a bus lane. Should I turn into the bus lane then within 50 m move across to the lane for cars?
Also if turning right from a single lane road and the nearest right side lane is a right turn lane should I turn into the turn lane and then move across to a straight ahead lane. It just seems wrong to turn into a lane which is not marked for your intended direction of travel

Hi there,
The Road Codes states that if you are turning into a multi lane road you must stay in your lane path through the turn and change after if it is safe to do so (usually when the white lane markers go from solid to dotted). https://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/roadcode/about-driving/using-lanes-correctly
