We backed out of a carpark, was stationery and put car into forward gear. Before we had a chance to drive off another car backed out of their carpark into the corner of our car. Who is at fault?

Hi there,
As you have said a reversing car hit a stationary one, the one in motion is generally at fault. If both were moving, then it could be ruled 50/50 as their is joint responsibility for road users to ensure the way is clear for the duration of their manoeuvre- especially the reversing vehicle as it is often travelling contrary to traffic flow/direction.
