Hi, I just got into a crash and I only have a Learner's License and been driving for over a year now. I had no L's and I was the only one inside the car. I was driving straight and the car is coming from the car park turning left. The driver drove left knowing that there's a car coming and I also notified her by honking my car as I was running at 50kmph. The police told me that I would only get a ticket for only having learner's license and she got a ticket for not stopping at the stop sign. The driver is planning to bring it to tribunal. Is there any case that I would lose the case as the police said it was both our fault as I was speeding running at 50kmph?

Hi there,
The police will determine who is responsible for the crash and determine what road rules have been broken. the fact you were on a learner and not displaying L plates would not automatically make you liable for the accident- just an infringement. However if both drivers were breaking road rules it could be that both are to blame and the repairs would have to be negotiated or passed to insurance to sort out who pays for what. if neither party will pay for each others cars to be repaired- then both of you might end up in a tribunal seeking damages.

I'm confused as the Police only noted that I would only get a ticket for having learner's license while driving and not for speeding. I want to know what the speed limit is around Sylvia Park parking lot besides the train station.

That's a bit lucky for you then. The speed limit should be 50kmh unless otherwise stated- as it is still classed as a public road. You might need to visit the park and check the signs if you really want to know. You may have been driving too fast for the conditions but still inside the speed limits.
