I was recently reversing from an angle parkin Tauranga. My way was clear to oncoming traffic so I had plenty of time to reverse. At the end of the reverse a person who was driving the opposite direction (the other side of the road) turned right to take a park beside me and in so doing hit my back bumper.
Am I in the wrong for not seeing him or is he in the wrong for not waiting for my reverse to finish?

Hi there,
Each carpark accident scenario can be quite different- usually it's the responsibility for the reversing car to make sure the way is clear for the duration of the manoeuvre. However, in some cases it can be ruled 50/50 if there was a part responsibility for both parties. It's a hard one to judge, but you would expect a car to be patient if it can clearly see that a vehicle is reversing out of a park and would have less visibility that them. Especially as they were the ones crossing the path of traffic flow and you remained on your side of the road while carrying out your manoeuvre.
