Hi
I have a 5 year old Mitsubishi Lancer that I bought from new.
Half of the steering wheel cover has lifted as it was a very light coating of plastic. It has lifted on the top side. It has mostly been parked in a garage.
The Mitsubishi agents are saying this is general wear and tear, but I think it is a cheap inferior product that has lasted less than 5 years. What is your advice?

Hi there,
If the vehicle manufacturer ceases to offer a remedy that is acceptable to you and you believe that the fault is a premature failure and the vehicle has not lasted for a reasonable amount of time. Then you would need to proceed to a dispute tribunal who are really the only ones who can determine if the manufacture should assist or if it is a part of general vehicle wear and tear that the owner is responsible for. https://www.consumerprotection.govt.nz/help-product-service/cars/solving-issues-car-dealer/

Ok thank you, I consider this a premature failure. They sell new cars but they are also trading as AA members. Pacific Motor Group - Mitsubishi, Suzuki & AA Auto Centre
