Dear Community,
When turning into a driveway/parking lot (that has no pedestrian crossing/zebra lines), does the pedestrian(s) crossing said turn have the right of way or does the pedestrian(s) have to give way to the car?
(Example, If I am about to turn into my driveway, should the pedestrian give way, or should I wait for pedestrian to cross?)
What if the it was someone on a scooter/skateboard when a car is turning in?
Or someone on a bicycle but on the pedestrian lane when a car is turning in?
Really appreciate if someone could help clarify these.
THANK YOU!

Hi there,
The NZTA Roadcode says below:
When leaving and entering driveways
When you are entering or leaving a driveway that crosses a footpath, you must give way to people using the footpath.
When leaving a driveway you must give way to vehicles using the road.
