Hi, could you advise on a situation I have, I recently took my vehicle into Land Rover to have a new key (also purchased from Land Rover) encoded to my vehicle. During the process the Land Rover technician rendered my infotainment/navigation/reverse camera unit inoperable. They have informed me that I need to pay for the work to fix the unit. Is this correct?

Hi there,
While there may be an unforeseeable consequence due to the process to code a key, it would generally be expected that if the unit was working before it went to the shop, it should then be going when it leaves. There could be issues if the vehicle is an import and the electrical system is cleared- codes might need to be obtained and entered to get the system running again- these could be hard to obtain.

Hi, thanks but that didn't answer the question, who pays for the repair. The dealership is expecting me to pay for their mistake???
