Hi, can I get a car towed away if it's parked on my property without consent? If so, how would I go about this? The vehicle in question hasn't been warranted or registered since about 2012, but it's not been reported stolen...

Hi there,
Information can be found here: https://www.consumer.org.nz/articles/towaway-rights

Thanks - it explains the law behind the action, but not how to go about it. I've phoned a couple of towing companies who wont touch it; the police are prepared to take a complaint from me but no guarantee they can do anything else unless the vehicle is "of interest", i.e. been used for crime etc.
I will leave a notice on the windscreen... I imagine it might not be quite legal for me to tow the car myself and park it on the street, on yellow lines???
