"(c) the goods were damaged after delivery to the consumer for reasons not related to their state or condition at the time of supply"

Based on the aboved clause, Can somebody please advice what would be considered damaged on the car?

Thanks

Hi there,
The information provided is a little confusing, but I would understand this to mean that an item was damaged after it had been delivered to the consumer- and that the damage was not present at the time of supply (when the consumer originally took possession of the item). Basically you may be declined the ability to reject a vehicle if the dealer is sees that the vehicle has "other" damage on it that wasn't present when they sold you the vehicle.

Ok but what if the dealer damaged the car during one of their repair? Will it overrule the fact that the owner damaged the car too?

The dealer can fix their damage, but may not want to fix damage caused by someone else. You may need to go to a dispute tribunal if you are not satisfied with the vehicle or the dealer. https://disputestribunal.govt.nz/
