Hi I bought a Toyota wish from a dealer this April and from the day I had the car i had issues with the indicator switch and the hinges in the boots. With the indicators when I drive into the round about trying to indicate it abruptly cuts the indicator once after I try to Indicate and I should try doing it again and again. It causes confusion to the drivers waiting in. The round about and I had several instances where I was about to be hit by another car. Also with the boot hinges when opened they don't open to their fullest but stops half way through and I have had several blows to the back of my head. When I took the delivery of the car the following day this dealer went on his holiday for a month with someone as in-charge for his delaership and didn't not get a proper response from the incharge. I was asked to take it to the service centre they work with and was asked to explain the issues and get it fixed on their cost. But the service centre guy told me that the indicator issue is a manufacturing defect and that could not be fixed. But after the dealer came back form his holiday I have been contacting him to get this issues fixed but he says that this issue comes with some cars and he can't help it. I took my car to Bosch service centre and asked them if this could be fixed and they told me that yes but it would cost around 500$ to fix both the issues. When I told this to the dealer he is telling me that it is too expensive for him to fix it and he has provided only two months of mechanical warranty. Can you please advise if this is a covered under the CGA. I would like him to fix this and I have taken a loan from finance company as well. Waiting to hear from you.

Hi there,
Information on dealing with vehicle faults can be found here: https://www.consumerprotection.govt.nz/help-product-service/cars/solving-issues-car-dealer/
Sometimes a decision can only be made through a dispute tribunal hearing and mediation on what should or should not be covered under the CGA.
