On Maunu Rd, Whangarei, as you a getting close to the hospital there is a "crossing" that has the road portion of it painted solid red. It has striped poles on either side of the road and it has orange disks attached to the poles. It has no diamonds painted on the road, nor any sign to say it is a pedestrian crossing. Is it a legal crossing that would cause me to observe normal pedestrian crossing rules? If its is or not it is confusing to me.

Hi there,
I can see on Google Maps a definite road crossing before the shops on the way from town to the Hospital. There are diamonds on the road and all the markings that signify a definite pedestrian crossing. It looks to have a refuge island in the centre also which helps the pedestrians stop in the middle of the crossing and cross one side at a time.
However I do know that the road has undergone a few upgrades lately and might be a little different looking now. (Ps I used to stand on this crossing as a child attending the school nearby)
