Hello.
This is a sticky one!! I engaged a 4wd workshop to install Aisin manual 4wd hubs. After a workshop job to repair leaky hub, advised the vehicle could only have AVM hubs (cheapest) because Aisin's require a spacer, at a cost of $906, subsequent 4wd failure , returned to workshop unhappy. There 2 days and told it was electrical, followed by further 4wd failure, assured all okay, then another 4wd failure requiring winching off a cliff (dangerous) I wrote requesting an independent assessment. Agreed and assessor found, no circlip, seals on same side as Aisin's leak above, replacement AVM's wouldn't fit and assessor then investigated further and found that the original install of Aisin's was done only on driver side, leaving passenger side still with factory electrics. A vehicle with half manual/half electric. Workshop owners now gone underground and refused my claim for supply of what I paid for - Aisin hubs, refund on all work that concealed this (knowingly it seems) and I'm very loath to take this to Small Claims Court because of long wait to get a hearing and then a battle to get payment from that mediation decision according to many accounts. I have filed with MTA but I would like AA to watch over this mediation process. Is that possible? Thank you..... Linda Stewart

Hello Linda,
You are right to file a claim with the MTA in many cases mediation is the quickest way to reach a solution with a repairer, however If you can't resolve and issue through mediation the next best step is to gather your evidence together as you have done and dispute the repairs in the small claims court.
