Hi, I am just wondering who will be liable for this scenario. Car A is doing reversing in the driveway of Car park and would like to leave this Car park. Meanwhile, Car B is also doing reversing and would like to leave too. They accidentally crash each other.

Does it mean both parties will be liable for their own damage as both parties do the reversing at the same time? or is there any other explanation?

Many thanks,

Hi there,
In this case, as both vehicles are moving it can often be deemed as a 50/50 split liability. So each party would insurance claim their own car.

Thanks. will 50/50 liability be changed if one car is revsering first and another is reversing late. As We checked the road is safe and clear to reverse and cannot see other car is reversing. However. the other party just claimed that he was the first one to reverse. We should cover his damages. how should We resolve the fixing fee ? We did not hear Any horn from his car.

Many thanks for your assisstance.

Hi there,
It would usually be up to the insurance companies decision, as each person would make a claim for their own vehicles. However, as both vehicles were in motion, the responsibility for each car throughout the manoeuvre is still the same (make sure the way is clear for the duration of the manoeuvre).
