I know that it is illegal to have an exhaust which can be changed by a manual switch or button. But I was thinking whats the legality if the switch is professionally added into the gear box, so that when i shift into sport on my transmission it opens the exhaust. Because technically it's not being changed with a switch but built into the car.

This is a bit of a tricky one, but shifting into Sport mode could still be classed as a switch, or determined to be readily available.
The wof rule states a fail if: 4. The exhaust system is so constructed or modified that its operation or effectiveness can be readily interfered with, eg the driver is able to interfere with the exhaust system by operating a manual switch, or the exhaust is fitted with a flame thrower kit.
