Hi, just wondering how many chances do you give a garage to get it right?
Our car (BMW) went in for a wof, garage suggested an upgrade to system (computer) not being any the wiser we took their advice and got it done. Had no problems when dropped off for upgrade/ updates. Now problem caused Idrive completely failed. Get car back finally apparently all fixed at cost to us????? Drove to Wgtn used a very strange version of the navigation then upon trying to load for navigation on way home system has reverted to original japanese with minimal usage available.
Now what, can we take elsewhere, or do they have to fix at there cost. Feel shouldn't have cost originally anyway. MTA mediation/disputes been no use, told us had to be put back to how it was upon originally going for updates at no cost to us, now saying we had to pay. Very confused here. Any help appreciated.

Hi there,
If you employed a company to do a job and they have charged for it and it's not right, you must give them first right of remedy and if it proves to be a total failure then I would expect a full refund. This will give you the opportunity to get the job done elsewhere at your leisure. You will be using the CGA as a reference point for your rights and remedy. https://www.consumerprotection.govt.nz/consumer-law-and-your-rights/consumer-guarantees-act/consumer-guarantees-for-services/
