Hi I recently had issues with my tyres scrapping the guards of my car. I took to a shop and they came up with a solution, they Shaved the back of the mag wheel off 4mm and then slotted in a 3mm spacer. My worry is another car place has told me this is illegal and won't get warrant or pass for insurance as the safety of the wheel has now been compromised. I have been in to vtnz and they have confirmed this is definitely illegal.

So my question is am I able to take the facts of this been illegal to the shop that done it an get them to replace my whole set of wheels now ? Because they informed me it was not illegal at all. Thankyou
