Hi there I have had legal tints on the front passenger windows of my altezza for the last 3 years or so. I have never failed a warrant because of them however recently I did, they were tested, failed and I was told they can get darker over time!?! I would like to know because they were tested but under cover can I go back to them and ask they test them but in natural light?

Hi there,
I've not heard of tints getting darker over time, usually lighter if anything.
It depends on the test method, some stations have a 35% tint film as an example which they compare against the vehicle, or they have a light meter which may be more accurate. A suggestion is to give the windows a good clean and see if it helps. If you park outside and ask for a recheck on the tints, they might just walk out and check them without putting the car in the shop?

Hi there,I worked in the window tinting industry for over 20 years and can assure you that Cade is correct, the tint will lighten over time not darken
